Dr. William Lindsey has been researching our Lindsey family tree for over 30 years. Bill has a Ph.D. and M.A. in theology from University of St. Michael's College, Toronto School of Theology, an M.A. in English from Tulane University, and a B.A. in English from Loyola, New Orleans. He's the author of a number of books and scholarly articles. His blog, Begats and Bequeathals — A Southern U.S. Family Documented, has several posts on our Lindsey ancestors, and will be adding more material about the Lindsey family.
William D. Lindsey has had an interest in family history from childhood forward. He was fortunate to grow up knowing both of his Lindsey grandparents and his maternal grandmother, and heard many stories from all of them about their family histories when he was a child. His uncle Henry Carlton Lindsey compiled a Lindsey family history when he was taking courses at Centenary College, and later in his life, he expanded that work and did further research on the Lindsey family, publishing it as a book on the Mark Lindsey family. When William Lindsey made plans to do graduate studies at Toronto School of Theology in 1978, he began to do active genealogical research and to compile all that his family knew about its history. From this point forward, he has consistently worked to research and document all of his family lines, including his Lindsey family line, and to share his information with other researchers and relatives."
